The Via Romana is a 257-kilometer long long-distance cycle route between North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands. The route follows an ancient Roman military road and connects historic towns such as Nijmegen (Ulpia Noviomagus Batavorum) and Xanten (Colonia Ulpia Traiana). Numerous archaeological sites and museums still shape the landscape along the way today.

Despite various offerings such as flyers, documentaries, and websites, there was previously no central, structured overview of all attractions. The aim of this project was to design an app that makes information along the route clear, accessible, and easy to navigate.

The app first introduces users to its main functions through a brief onboarding process. Afterwards, users can select a city and receive a list of available attractions. Each attraction has its own subpage with information such as address, opening hours, contact details, and a short description. A search function and filtering options further support navigation.

Attractions can be saved as favorites and quickly accessed again. In addition, the app provides supplementary information about events and points users to thematically related places nearby. A text-to-speech function supports accessible use.
