Pascal Kress
Visiting Professor of Visual Identities
Pascal Kress (*1979, Frankfurt am Main) studied Experimental Spatial Concepts with Prof. Heiner Blum at the University of Art and Design Offenbach and is active in the fields of design, teaching, and research.
Under the name The Floor Show, he designs visual identities, exhibitions, and publications for cultural institutions and non-profit organizations, including the Museum of Sepulchral Culture in Kassel and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in India.
From 2017 to 2023, he was a research associate in Visual Communication within the Graphic Design department at the University of the Arts Berlin, where he taught courses on topics such as ecology, gender, and artificial intelligence. He has also held guest lectures at institutions such as Weißensee Academy of Art Berlin and Mainz University of Applied Sciences.
He is a founding member of the Focus Group on Design Research, an interdisciplinary network of university educators from various disciplines. His research focuses on two key areas: the working methods and collaborations of graphic designers (the backend of graphic design) and the use of text and typography in fine art (My Type of Art).
In the Winter Semester 2024/25, he joined Folkwang University of the Arts as a Visiting Professor for Communication Design in the Faculty of Design.
