Stefan Lausch, born in 1966, studied painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1987 to 1995 under Prof. Alfonso Hüppi, becoming a master student in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, he was a scholarship recipient of the German National Academic Foundation. His studies took him on research trips through Turkey (1989), Egypt (1991), Syria (1993), Poland (1994), Armenia (1998), and New York (1997).
Since 2006, he has been a Professor of Visual Design Foundations at the Folkwang University of the Arts.
His works are part of major collections, including Museum Kunstpalast (Düsseldorf), Museum for New Art (Freiburg), Deutsche Bank Collection (Frankfurt/Main) and Heinrich Heine University (Düsseldorf).
